This May, the StudioHawk team attended Dreamland — East London’s “vibey-ist” eCommerce, retailer, and DTC brand growth conference. The "Coachella for eCommerce,” the event definitely lived up to the hype with electric energy all day.
The conference was packed with inspiring speakers, software specialists, and a buzzing crowd of ambitious brands ready to share insights and make connections. It was an incredible chance for our team to network with leaders shaping the future of eCommerce and deepen our understanding of customer experience, retention, and brand engagement.

We learnt how brands can use WhatsApp as a channel to communicate directly with consumers — from sending polls to boost interaction to encouraging more product reviews. This kind of direct engagement is proving powerful for building loyalty and improving customer feedback.
Another key takeaway was the importance of multi-channel engagement, especially through platforms like TikTok and YouTube, to expand outreach and connect with audiences in more dynamic, creative ways.
We also learned about the value of online quizzes to guide customers toward the right products, improving the shopping experience and increasing conversion rates.
What really made Dreamland stand out were the extras: cocktails, pizzas, mini pancakes and even fire breathers! No stuffiness, no stress - just a fun day out to meet other professionals who want to learn within the eCommerce space. It wasn’t just a conference; it was an experience!
